Sophie Douglas
FounderI am Sophie, Pilates instructor and yoga teacher, wellness advocate, and co-founder of Plio Education.
Pilates and Yoga allow me to feel stronger, calmer, and more connected to myself physically and mentally. What started as a personal interest quickly became something I genuinely loved, and over time I decided to take my passion further through instructor training and teaching, alongside my full time career.
Through my platform, @sophiepilatesyoga, I share balanced wellness and movement. For me, Pilates is about moving well, feeling good, and creating space for yourself. Seeing how movement can build confidence in people, help them to connect with themselves, and even inspire them to become instructors is something I’m really passionate about.
That is exactly why we created Plio Education, to help support and educate the next generation of Pilates teachers in a way that feels natural, supportive, and grounded in real experience
Danielle Lee Moulding
FounderI’m Danielle, founder of The Pilates Place and co founder of Plio Education. Like many people, my Pilates journey started simply by wanting to feel better in myself. What began as a personal interest quickly turned into a genuine passion for movement, strength, confidence, and helping people realise that Pilates really is for everybody.
Over the years, I have immersed myself in training, development, and learning everything I could about Pilates. I love not only by the physical benefits, but by the way Pilates can completely change how people feel stronger, more confident, more connected, and able to move better in everyday life. That passion led me to qualify as an instructor and continue building my knowledge through further education and specialist training.
Alongside my career in senior civil service finance, I took a leap and opened The Pilates Place a community-focused studio built on the belief that Pilates should feel welcoming, affordable, and accessible for everyone. No intimidation, no exclusivity, no “Pilates body” required. Just good movement, fantastic people, and a space where everybody feels comfortable walking through the door.
Since opening, The Pilates Place has grown into far more than just a studio. It has become a community. Seeing clients fall in love with movement, grow in confidence, and even discover a passion for teaching themselves inspired the next chapter of my journey with Plio Education.
Plio Education was created to help shape the next generation of Pilates instructors through high-quality, supportive, real-world training. My goal is simple: to give future teachers the skills, confidence, and knowledge they need to build successful, authentic careers in the industry while never losing sight of what Pilates is truly about, helping people move and feel better.
For me, this industry has never just been about exercise. It’s about empowerment, education, community, and creating spaces where people feel seen, supported, and capable of more than they thought possible.
